Austria (Re-post from Journals)

We headed over to Innsbruck, Austria, where we crossed over the German Austrian border- that took about 3 or so hours. Kristy say that many people come all over the world here to visit b/c of "The Sound of Music". I remember this movie when I was in the first grade- many many years ago, =) singing along to the "Do-Re-Mi" songs. You guys (especially the girls) know what I'm talking about. ha-ha. Austria's scenery is really breath talking, too bad my camera wasn't able to capture it's beauty. I guess you guys have to see it in person.

We stopped at the Rafting site for those who wanted to raft. I persuaded Wendy to go, since she hasn't done it before and to stop worry about how much it cost. I didn't go b/c the Alps water was too cold to be rafting in; beside I've done it before and would rather do it w/ friends. While people went rafting, we lost 2 of our tour mates and began searching for almost 20 mins. to find out that they misunderstood where we were suppose to wait. We went down to the café and waited for the rafter to come downstream where we were. During this time, I tried Goulash and it was yummy! I guess the cold weather w/ the warm soup was a very good combination. About 5 people asked how I know Wendy, I didn't tell people she was my aunt b/c she didn't want people to know how old she was and I also didn't want people to know we are related. (I know I'm mess up- but hey it’s a win-win situation.) I told them we are just friends and to ignore when she's brats about herself, she just doesn't know when to stop and they all laughed. (You have to understand that the whole time, she been brattling on and on about where's she travel too, the expensive places she goes to eat and that she doesn't work. Sometime it's just very embarrassing watching the way she acts. Sometimes I wonder why she acts dumb to get attention.) Anyways, the people from rafting got back and Wendy's raft flipped over-everyone except Wendy and this other girl stayed on. For some reason, Wendy told everyone she can't swim and people kept telling her she's brave for rafting. Dude! Wtf! She knows how to swim and she knows that I know she knows how to swim. Why is she lying in front of me again? I gave her this look why is she lying? By the way, you don’t need to know how to swim to go rafting, you have life jackets.

Anyways, we stopped at the city centre for 2.5 hours shopping spree. Oh my, this actually felt like a European city as I pictured in my mind. We went to Swarovski Crystal gallery; I thought it was going to be cheaper than the US. Oh well, I'm here once so I mind as well spend a little. Wendy brought this belt that was half price from 118 marked down to 59 euro. I thought it was kind of ugly and I thought she doesn't have much $$, why is she spending $$ on this ugly thing? Oh well, I guess we are have different taste. I brought 3 necklaces, 2 as birthday gifts- I hope they will like it cause I'm not sure if you can return it in the States. After Swarovski, I told Wendy that we should spilt up for an hour to explore on our own. I brought this pastry that looked good, but one bite I threw it again. I guess, I learned my lesson from judging something by its cover. Later, while waiting for Wendy, I brought a small espresso that was almost 6 euro not including tips- but it was so good! Maybe it was the environment that makes it so good and relaxing.

After our shopping spree, we headed back to out hotel for a whiteout party. It was basically a party where everyone was wearing white and there was black light that made the white glow or reflects. It was all right; I had 2 red bulls w/ vodka. Kristy mentioned that the bartender used to be a Calvin Klein model so we have to check him out. Well, he actually pretty cute and handsome; better than what I imagine to be. I thought he would be a skinny European guy. =) But he was pretty muscular, that's a big plus! At the party, I talked to a few people and chilled a little bit. It was tonight that I learned that I didn't want try to hard to make new friends. You can say that watching Wendy trying so hard to fit in to make new friends- just not worth it. Anyways, I told Wendy that I'm heading back to the room and tell her it's ok to stay; which she did and I was glad b/c I wanted some alone time. Went back to the room, listen to some music and read for bit. Somehow Wendy got back within an hour, so I guess I have to cut my alone time short.
