Venezia (Re-post from Journals)

I had the best day so far on this trip; I decided not to allow Wendy to spoil this trip for me. I decided to be the traveler and not a tourist no more. (As Kristy would say it.) After all, I'm here once only. Kristy went over some of the highlights and suggested that we should get lost in Venice. As we walked closer to St. Mark square, a smile out of nowhere- suddenly appeared and there this feel good feeling that I'm really here in Venice or should I say Venezia. =) The gondola ride seems surreal that I had to pitch myself. Ouch! Ok, I'm really, really here. Wow! The whole entire time, I was just absorbing the whole scenery! Wow and wow! I'm really here. It's been one of my fave cities when I was a little kid. I have always thought Venice was really romantic and magically. However, the canals are not as magical nor that romantic. People dispose of waste in the canals which includes sewage of all kinds. (Yes! even that kind. ewww.) I thought Amsterdam's canal was nicer, nevertheless there's no place or city like Venice.

We hanged out with Justine and Jason, a cute couple from Los Angeles. They were pretty cool and the best thing I liked about them was that they are real and not fake. Kristy told us not to spent more than 10-15 euro on a knock-off purse. But I thought it was funny how Justine was saying that people should not buy knock-off purse that it's not worth a penny, which I totally agree. Why have something fake because you can't afford, then it makes you fake. It was so funny when Wendy was trying to agree w/ Justin that it's not worth it, but I know she does buy it. Oh well, I not sure whether I'm use to her lying or she's use to lying in front of me? Anyways, all of us went and did a little shopping and of course, we had
our first gelato except for Wendy. =) It was small but good. Then we had a nice dinner that was a little pricey, but it was worth it since we are in Venice!

On our ferry ride back to our hotel, I sat there watching as we headed farther away from Venice. Venice is so beautiful at night; it was just amazing and surreal. I'm really looking forward to Rome. For now, I'm going to check out the expensive Internet at the hotel and watch some Italian MTV.

Ps.
There are 2 toilets in each bathroom in Italy, one for male and one for the females.
