Family Trip
Just got back from LA this weekend on a mini family trip, sort of for my b-day, but I didn’t see it that way. I just realize this is our first family ever that’s out of town. I wish Mom was there, but she was in China, even so I didn’t think she would have went. Family trip is not a tradition in our family, however I’m going to change that. =) Hey, someone gotta do something about it, right? It only took me 4.5 hour to drive down to LA. Yes, I told myself prior to the trip that I wouldn’t speed but it was so hard when you see other people doing it. Luckily Jane saw a High Patrol after our gas station/restroom break or I would have gotten a fat ticket. We went to Santa Monica pier, drove pass Rodeo Ride then over to Chinese Mann Theater for a hour or two, then we went to Medieval Times. Okok, we dropped by Target before Medieval Time because we had 40 min. to kill and it was near by. =) It was just too tempting and we all love Target , don’t we? Medieval Times was pretty entertaining. The jousting and sword fighting were pretty well choreographed. The food was finger licking good, since we had to use our bare hand to eat. Tyra had a blast, she was so into the horse and it was kwel how one of the knights threw her a flower. It was something different for the family. After the show, we checked into our hotel in Anaheim. The hotel wasn’t bad at all, the pool and hot tub was pretty clean. A few of us went for a swim and we were supposed to head over to Dave and Buster after swimming, but I guess everyone was pretty tired. So we ordered pizza and gamble a little for fun and call in a night.
The next morning, all of us checked out what the complimentary breakfast was. To our surprise it wasn’t some cheap muffin w/ coffee and orange juice. Instead it was almost like the hotel we stayed in Chicago. This time around they had eggs, hash brown, bacon, oatmeal, cereal, toast, donut and juice etc… Not bad, save us some money from going out to breakfast. We headed over to Lego land after breakfast. Lego land wasn’t what I expected to be. Tyra gotten her first driver license from Lego land. She was so cute driving the mini electric motor car; she kept crashing into the side. Man, this kid is too much that she cracks us all up!!! I think Johnny liked Lego land a lot, he took so much picture that it annoyed Joanne a little bit, because all of us wanted to hurry and go have lunch and outlet shopping. Jane brought me a D&B purse that I picked out at the outlet, which was cool; because it’s actually something I like and will use. There’s one thing I hate getting from people is clothes, candles and lotion sets! Nancy was going to get me a wallet, but I didn’t see anything else I liked, so I guess I’ll just take a rain check.
Driving back from Lego land was horrible!! It took me almost 2.5 hours to get to LA. Traffic was horrible; I don’t know how people can survive in these environments. I don’t think I will be able to live there. I probably won’t go anywhere just to avoid the traffic. It took us about 7.5 hours to go home. When we got home, we ordered Chinese food for a late dinner. After dinner they surprised me with a cake, =) I thought it was sweet of them. For some odd reason, I didn’t care about the cake as I did before, I was just glad that we all spent a week out and I have to admit it was also one of my best relaxing trip. The best part is that I’m glad my family had fun. Hmm.. where next? =) Camping???
